This is a great site--Inspiration Galore!

Natural Living.
This family brought city living to a new level: growing their own food, composting their humanure (which puts nutrients back in the land & keeps polution out of water supply), collecting rain water to reduce city flooding and supply their fresh water. Their site is no longer up, but the archived version tells of their journey in the late 1990's.
